Also, we launched a fundraising campaign on GoFundMe to support the forgotten hospitals in Italy, asking our supporters to inform us about hospitals most in need. Your emails indicated the <strong>hospital in Locri<\/strong> as the one of the most in need and we donated <strong>12,700 euro <\/strong>to the medical facility there.<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>GREECE<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><p>To the small <strong>hospital in Samos<\/strong> we donated one ventilator, two monitors for the ICU and personal protective equipment for the staff.<\/p><p>We also distributed <strong>hygiene kits<\/strong> to unaccompanied minors who live in the hotspot.<\/p><p>Following our petition, <strong>the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) <\/strong>asked the Greek government to immediately <strong>transfer 7 unaccompanied minors from the Samos hotspot<\/strong> to safer accommodations.<\/p><p>Together with other NGOs, <strong>we demanded EU Member States to transfer all unaccompanied minors from the refugee camps on the Greek islands<\/strong>.<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>TURKEY<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><p>We distributed <strong>hygiene kits<\/strong> and trained children about how to prevent the virus spread.<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>KENYA<\/li><\/ul><p>In Nairobi we distributed <strong>200 hygiene kits<\/strong> containing masks and hand-sanitisers to families who live in the most difficult areas of the city. We also launched a campaign to create three <strong>murals in the Nairobi slums<\/strong> communicating essential messages about COVID-19 prevention.<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>TOGETHER<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><p>Due to coronavirus restrictions, we had to close our schools in Samos and Gaziantep. To ensure access to education even during the pandemic, we launched <a data-pwid=\"1475-1022\" href=\"https:\/\/www.stillirisengo.org\/en\/schools\/together\/\">Together<\/a>, our <strong>e-learning program<\/strong> for 11-17 year old children offering free courses of English, math, reading, meditation, resilience, and more.<\/p><p>\nTo bring a message of support, solidarity and gratitude to all the doctors, nurses, health workers, paramedics, technicians, researchers, telephone operators, orderlies, volunteers, pharmacists and general practitioners who risk their lives every day in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, we launched a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.change.org\/p\/nominate-the-hospital-staff-of-the-world-for-the-2020-nobel-peace-prize-nobelprize\">petition on&nbsp;change.org&nbsp;<\/a> to ask the Nobel Prize Committee to exceptionally welcome the <strong>nomination of health personnel from all over the world for the Nobel Peace Prize 2020<\/strong>.<\/p><p>The petition is travelling around the world, reaching the UK, Germany, Turkey, India and Australia with over 112,000 signatures.<\/p><p>With these initiatives we hoped to give our small contribution to support the most vulnerable during this pandemic.
